RUST AND BONE is adapted from the 2005 collection of short stories by Canadian author Craig Davidson, who will be an honorary guest in Princeton during the weekend of the Princeton French Film Festival.
A tender yet unsentimental love story between an injured killer whale trainer who is confined to a wheelchair and a rough boxer who helps her gain new strength. RUST AND BONE beautifully blends a direct, raw naturalism with classical narrative filmmaking. This incredibly nuanced film from acclaimed French auteur Jacques Audiard (Dheepan, A Prophet, Emilia Perez) features strong performances from leads Marion Cotillard and Matthias Schoenaerts. In French w/ subtitles. Rated R.
